The World Museum, Liverpool is situated at the lower end of William Brown Street, Liverpool 3,

facing the gardens of St. George’s Hall and approximately 150 metres from Lime Street Station.

OPEN (Open to all players who are members of their national federation)

MAJOR (Under 155)

Team Prize:- A prize of £60 will be awarded to the best score by a team of 4 players (three to count) from a genuine club. Teams to be handed in by noon on Saturday.

 

NCCU Individual Championship:- The highest placed NCCU player in the Open will be NCCU Champion and will receive a free entry to the British Championships in Great Yarmouth.

 

Merseyside Individual Championships:- Trophies will be awarded to the best placed Merseyside player in each section. A junior trophy will also be awarded.

 

Entry Fee to all sections £16

There will be a £3 reduction to all categories of ECF Members, Juniors and Senior Citizens.

Entries after 7/9/06  £2 surcharge.

 

ROUND TIMES

.

Saturday 16th September:  9.30am-1.30pm, 2pm-6pm, 6.30pm-10.30pm

Sunday 17th September:    10am-2pm, 2.30pm-6.30pm

 

Prize Giving: Straight after the end of the last game. 

 

Move Rate: 40 moves in 100 minutes then 20 minutes quickplay finish.

 

Grading: The 2006 ECF list will be used. If you have no grade it is a condition of entry that you give full details of any previous grade held and any recent results.

 


 

Byes: A single half point bye may be claimed in any of the first four rounds. A first round bye must be noted on the entry form. If you have no grade it is a condition of entry that you give full details of any previous grade held and any recent results.

 

Prize Distribution:- The organisers reserve the right to redistribute in whole or in part any other prize won by a player who has won or shared a main prize.

 

Conditions:- This event is run by Liverpool Chess Club. We reserve the right to refuse and return any entry or to transfer an entry from one section to another. We draw attention to the fact that we cannot be held responsible for any item lost by competitors.

Travel: You are strongly advised to use public transport, as parking in central Liverpool is not readily available. Lime Street Station and national and local bus stations are all close to the venue. You can park and ride from many suburban stations.

 

Refreshments: The World Museum has a cafι and there are many restaurants in central Liverpool.

 

Mobile Phones:- These must be switched off at all times. Failure to observe this rule will result in the player losing the game.

 

Notice of Withdrawal:- If made before 15th September a fee of £2 will be charged. There will be no refunds after this date.

 

Disputes:- The Chief Arbiter’s decision is final.
